The Napster trial is vapor law. It means almost nothing to us as investors. The ONLY interest this trial holds for us as investors is who and how anyone will make $$$ of of file sharing technology.

Even if Napster looses big and they hang everyone there from the highest yardarm, it won't matter one bit. There is still Gnutella and Hotline and a horde of even more powerful file transfer modes out there waiting for their chance. As a matter of fact it won't just be MP3s, it will be any type of file.

Gnutella is open (like Linux) and basically allows anyone to use their computer as a server and a client. They'd have to shut down the internet to stop this type of file sharing.

Hotline has been around for years, it's a bit more of a hassle but not much.

Sort of like trying to stop people from playing a song over a telephone.
