Hi Bob, My best lap at R.A. is a 3:04 (pre-surgery) in that old beast.

My good friend Pete Wilson used to campaign a Showroom Stock Mustang LX (a 1988) and has turned in times under three minutes at Road America. It's the short tracks that are hard on that car. (Brakes get hot and have no cool down time) At R.A. at least there's long straights to cool off the brakes. I never drove his Mustang at R.A. but co-drove it many times at Black Hawk Farms, IL in The Long Race of 50 laps (100 miles). We'd use up a new set of Carbon Met. front pucks in that event. One year we finished with no front brakes left (yes, I was driving).

Lots of fun!

Best regards, Tom
