The beauty of being short ATHM is that you know its never gonna run away from you. No news will make it soar

Better look at the chart. Specifically, look at May 8. finance.yahoo.com

And it didn't take much news to do it either.

The beauty of the ATHM message board is that there is always somebody who will remember what you said and make you eat your words <g>.

Gotta differ with you there, Eric... if you and EricD of #activetrader are one and the same, you know that ATHM is perfectly capable of scaring the hell out of you and making you cover. Your advantage, and mine for that matter is that we are sitting right on top of it all day.

OTOH, I have to agree with your previous post that one solution to turning the share price around is a steep and sharp selloff, into the hands of money managers who shrug and say," OK, what the hell, I'll buy it at this price." I suspect that will come when all of the "cultists" with multi-thousand share positions all head for the exits at once. This stock seems to foster a stubborn mind-set that laughs at the premise of it going lower.

That said, I'm ready to buy it back, if it sells off on volume, but I won't chase it, nor will I short it at this level. The breakdown of the base and the LT trend make it an ideal short, but I don't trust the explosive manner in which this stock can respond to news... on the softer side, I probably also have a slight prejudice that makes me want the longs on this board to get their just reward for the time that they have invested.
