Paul, Scumbria,

SCUMbria - Re: "If AMD sold 1.2 million Athlons in Q2, and then sell 3.6 million in Q3, I would expect ASP's to be at least stable- and possibly some upside."

Sure - but enough upside to maintain an inflated stock price?

The number of k7 chips in:
Q1: 1.2 M
Q2: 1.8 M
Plan for the rest of the year for K7 chips is:
Q3: 3.6 M
Q4: 7.2 M

As the number of K7s increases, the number of K6s will go down.

Joe

What inflated stock price? AMD has a trailing 12 months P/E of 36. Even if it only makes an average of $1.50 EPS in Q3 and Q4, that would put its trailing P/E at 13 if the stock price remained the same. Is this overvalued? Should AMD have a single digit P/E??
