Actually Clappy, I heard that most fund managers must buy on the day they are included so they track the index' performance spot on, or as near as one can get. Don't know how true it is or whether some fund managers find a way to jump the gun. I would think a good majority must buy tomorrow at the close & there will be serious volume.

Re fund managers already "knowing weights" of various S&P components.

Don't trust much, myself ... LOL.
