Tax question re BMCS:

If I sell my shares of BMCS at a loss in a nonIRA account and then repurchase them in an IRA account, do I avoid the wash sales rule?

Buy out will do some healing here. I believe that BMC adds much to IBM product mix both in variety and quality. YOu know more about this than I do--could you please talk to this point. Also, BMC woes call out for more consolidation in the industry. I just hope Max doesn't try to buy out or merge with someone else. IBM is the White Night here, noone else.
