Craig: Congrats on the buy. I've been using mine now for some time and it's a "piece of work". The only problem I found is the camera is very power Hungry. After purchasing an extra 2 sets of batteries I finally decided to try a MAHA battery pack. Glad I did....

I have never run out of power and the pack is small and compact. At $57 for the battery,ac charger, vehicle dc charger, case, cable and ends this thing is as good a buy as the stock we all know and love. (SNDK) ahem!

Craig,

Only big complain I still have about the 990 is that like the 950, the flash is not strong enough in normal indoor at night situations. It works for close shots, but for wide photos of everbody, it usually comes up dim if you don't have bright lights.
