Either 1) ADI is losing market share (which I am sure is the case)

ADI losing market share? Not hardly.
From last weeks DSL Prime...
"One chipmaker is looking to deliver 15-20 million DSL chipsets this year, while another has potential orders for 15M and hopes to be able to produce 12 million of those."

Who do you think those two companies are? I've spoken with one of them and can tell you that ADI is absolutely one of them, while the other one would obviously be Alcatel.

What do you think will happen to ADI's market share if they start shipping ADSL chips to Alcatel.

Get the pencil out again. ADI will ship more xDSL chips in 2000 than will Virata, Globespan and TI combined. You heard it here first.
