Dear JDN: To comment on this part of the e-mail you shared:

"... Analysts at Credit Suisse First Boston and Merrill Lynch came out
before the open today and could very well have initiated the
momentum with both firms reiterating Buy ratings on the company.
Analysts at Merrill placed a price target of $125, while the
folks at CSFB were a bit more generous with a 12-month price
target of $150.00."

The ML report of yesterday, July 25, is a reiteration of the report they released on July 21--same title, same text, same everything found in the earlier report. The only difference I see is that there are two tables at the end of yesterday's report: Table 1: Sun Microsystems Earnings Model 2000-2001E; and Table 2: Sun Microsystems Orders and Backlog for 1997 through 2000.

Waiting to see today's latest report on hog raising- Edit: It's out. 6 month target raised to 34. No long term target given.

Regards,

Lynn

P.S. I did not go over to the EMC thread yesterday so I do not know if anyone mentioned that EMC is, as of yesterday, ML's Focus 1 stock.
