another view from realmoney.com: David Brail jdsu add 7/25/00 10:54 PM ET re: the merrill lynch report that more jdsu has traded than indexers need to buy: I would be careful taking merrill's conclusion's at face value. Its conclusion is very simplistic and superficial. The situation is much more nuanced. You can't just tally up the shares that have traded and come to some ironclad conclusion a full day before the add. CNBC is guilty of this as well, but I think they are relying on this same piece of analysis. I think there will be lots of twists and turns in JDSU between 9:30 and 4:00, and the astute and cagey traders will find profitable opportunites.
