re: Increased spread between SDLI and JDSU is really interesting to me. I can only think that the market considers JDSU's S&P pop an artificial stimulant that will run its course.

You have the earning factor, possible split too. I like SDLI at 350, I hope it gets down there with the sell the news on JDSU after earnings and the S&P addition over with. I do think the NT/GLW news is larger then anyone on SI thinks, that's real competition for JDSU/SDLI. So, you have five things working here, earning, S&P addition, and split all holding JDSU up today, while you have overvaluation and competition holding SDLI down. I suspect JDSU will join SDLI going lower after today, unless of course a split and earning are out of this world. I come to realize that NT is much less heart breaking optical play. NT seems to be coming out the winner in the LU, CSCO, NT fight. I really surprised at the lack of fighting power in LU, what a disappointment that stock has been for holders.
