These were really little [small mouse sized], but aerodynamically were much the same, but with a very flat wide tail. It was amazing to see them scamper flat out up the glass. I suppose there are only so many aerodynamic designs you can get with four legs which run quite well, with some sort of wing thing attached to them. I suppose one of those lizards with flaring hoods could enlarge that to have a wing on their head. Meanwhile, Concorde's method of flying has been shown to be less than perfect and the cruel world of technological evolution has claimed another victim. I feel sorry for the guy who presumably left a fuel pipe undone or didn't tighten a nut or left a spanner in the works. He can look forwards to a life-time of terrible guilt. On the home front, the first New Zealand soldier since Vietnam to die at the hands of enemy fire was shot in the back of the head while retreating [running flat out] with his group of 5 [he was the lead scout]. The killers were Timorese/Indonesian militia thugs who have not accepted that they have free rein and reign in East Timor. The killers escaped to West Timor [a kilometre away], where the Indonesians are not exerting proper control. The troops should have Globalstar phones with a connection to the northern Australian gateway. You might recall that NZ, Australia and a UN force have occupied East Timor after the mayhem over the past few years and the APEC meeting in Auckland last year. Meanwhile, George Speight in Fiji, who was trying to establish apartheid, has been arrested by the Fijian army there. I suppose civil strife there will continue. Close to home, young children are beaten, burned, sexually abused and killed! I suppose with 6 billion mad people [read SI for plenty of evidence], it's enough that the sun rises and sets each day and nearly all of us are still here. But the world does seem mad and cruel all too often. Mqurice
