My point isn't about AMD giving Intel the low end (BTW, thank you very much). I think there is a presumption that AMD will be able to sell all the Athlons it can make (double last quarter) at the higher price point. AMD is moving more processors into price categories already shared with Intel, expecting to take market share. The marketplace isn't elastic, it won't expand because there are X many more Athlons. Intel in the past has been reluctant to give up market share, and may have the capacity to supply the demand. I don't know how this will play out, maybe AMD will be very successful, maybe not. It just seems that on both threads people feel that it will be easy for AMD to double Athlon sales, and I'm less convinced that will happen.
