Darrell, RE: So, we either believe Dell, or pooh-poohing by EMC to analysts.

Compare EMC's revenue per employee with Dell's - nearly double. How many carpenters does it take to build their house?

There is no question in my mind that EMC management is highly prone to hyperbole. OTOH, they've managed to back it up and more in the past. And at 100x earnings, there is very little room for error if they can't.

Kind of reminds me of DELL's situation back in early 1999.

It is not my intent to bash DELL here. DELL the stock is in much, much better shape right now than it was a year ago.

GV, another thing. Chu visited Dell's Convergenet operation - gave it a "strong buy" thereafter - strong wording in his report about it.

Kumar did not. Kumar made his analysis based on his knowledge of EMC and the storage market.

Which analysis has more merit in your opinion given your experience with these two analysts?
