It's FUD at it's finest! A good CEO is also a good politician. They're also good statisticians. I know a fair number who are avid skippers and God help anyone who tries to take the helm. Their minds calculate angles and probabilities. Their chess-master instincts hone in on competitors with magnetic precision. Roth's right up there with the best and if an idle comment can shake a few pts off a competitor's market cap, so much the better. Does it hurt his company's chances with the DOJ? Heck, no. He knows any comments he makes won't make a whit of difference at that level. But he also knows they do affect the thinking of a fickle if not infantile market. What a game! Maybe it's really just verbal chess. And Greenspan the master of masters. Pat
