SBH,

Good post! Thank you.

The only thing I'd add to what you said is that it's not even all black-and-white for the engineering community. The person who originally turned me on to Rambus was an ASIC designer for the memory interfaces (among other technologies) for a major hard drive company. He believed then, and now, that DDR will have stability problems (given the multiple stubs, different signal speeds, etc., from what I remember) and that even if they get it to work, its life will be much shorter than RDRAM. His view of RDRAM is that they've appropriately taken a view of the system as a whole, not just individual chips and that RDRAM has a much longer future to it. Having worked with him in the past, I trust his judgment.

Good luck today,

Dave

Institutions going nuts buying RAMBUS. Look at the SUPER BUY SIGNALS. What's good for the Goose MAY be good for the Gander!
