Surfer: I am sorry that I cannot comment on your strategy. I never take short positions. I am only thinking of using Brinker's call to exit some long positions that I have in some tech stocks and mutual funds.

Good luck and best wishes.

<<Wondering what do you think about this ?: Starting this Friday, take a small short position on QQQ near close assuming broker can borrow it. If Bob doesn't call it during the weekend, then cover it on Monday if market is strong. Does it make sense? Appreciate your thoughts.>>

Just a note about the QQQ,

QQQ is primarily bought and sold by funds, look at the blocks and the volume. QQQ is also driven, in my opinion, by the Nasdaq futures.

So in evaluating your strategy, which essentially is based upon Mr. Brinker's exit call on QQQ forcing a stampede to the exits, one must determine whether that call will cause institutional selling (because that is where the kind of volume that will move the market must come from) and/or major action in selling the Nasdaq futures.

This of course, is only my opinion. I would further state that it is my opinion that when Mr. Brinker gives the exit signal, it will be factors other than his call (but probably the same factors that lead him to make his call) that will send the QQQs down after the call is made.
