"They[hlit] claim to be getting ready for a new upgrade bringing more intelligence out to the node which will boost speed and quality."

Frank and Thread- I've been meaning to bring this question up and since Mark has lead the way(his statement above) I'm wondering if anyone can offer any answers. What he is referring to specifically is HLIT's cableco product to bring CMTS(cable modem termination system) out to the node. Or was it hub? I'll look it up now..... divi.com ....Looks like Mark had it right. CMTS right out to the node?!

I don't get it? What do they do with this CMTS? Hang it off the telephone pole, or bury in the ground? Obviously I'm not understanding something because I thought a CMTS was a big piece of hardware. And I thought the node was pretty close to the endpoint in the network. Where the coax cable took over leading to the drop at the home. If so, where do they fit a CMTS, waaay out there, in the network?

Can anyone explain? Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Mark- I'll comment on the stock price either on the individual HLIT thread or maybe a PM.

PS2 Whoops. Sorry abukhari. I meant to link to Frank. But maybe you know the answer too?
