You raise an interesting point, Sham. Perhaps someone could comment on the following.

We know that once the spinoff is completed, chip manufacturers will have to negotiate licenses with both spinco and qcom in order to use cdma technology. Dr. J has said, however, that existing licenses with qcom will not be affected. If NOK signed up for 3G now, would they avoid having to deal with spinco later on?
