U.S. labor costs rose in the second quarter at a slower pace than in the first three months of the year, in line with expectations.
Productivity-adjusted employment costs are rising more slowly than the overall inflation rate. Orders for durable goods registered the largest increase in almost a decade last month.

Compared with a year earlier, June orders were up 23%. Equity futures suggest slightly positive openings for the S&P 500 and the Dow. Nasdaq futures suggest that technology will open lower.
