Pro--- I am long and now holding a few issues in the red. Those are being cleared as there have been great gains this year. Tomorrows employment figures will have an effect on mkt direction. Many were taking $$ off the table today feeling if the number is good there will be a little rise in the mkts but if it is bad there will be a decent drop-- there are many that are real concerned about the Aug FED mtg and that # will have some input to AGs thought process. Unless things drastically change it seems unlikely he will raise rates again that close to election day. I know the <<" weary of the market.">> feeling and esp weary of cpq. It cannot get a break or even be treated fairly. Also,, it is still red (excluding calls sold for months) so today I sold the Aug 30s against 75%. I feel they stand a very good chance of being called,,, I'll feel better if it goes as I also think it will fall again until next qtr. CPQ has a percetion problem. Maybe the new guy can help that out,, MC seems to be taking care of his perception problems very well..
Luck tomorrow!
I have only been in DELL once this year,, and MUEI 3 times. Traded the DELL for about 1 point (got out much too early) as it is just acting strange and so is Mikey. People I know that know DELL much better than I have started to lighten up over the concerns that you mentioned plus concerns on their server sales.
I have been selling CCs on SCLN for months also. I have been trading large blocks of hcdc. It is now getting into buy range again (2 3/4 + -) for 1/2 - 3/4 rather consistantly. Also adding T well under 32. Made my last trade on coms and had a huge ride there earlier too. IMO it is all based on hype and WAY overvalued now and too close to falling hard once the palm distribution begins esp since the lockup ends next month. Still gotta play the lcos/trra spread for another few weeks,,, hoping it drops 5 or 6 this week as 1/2 was sold today at 66 rising from 42 in a couple weeks,, I also am sitting decent in Oct NOK 50s. Hope the numbers there are good and it does not fall. Will know REAL soon on that one.
Not daytrading but buying very little for the LT,, staying nimble and with a decent cash position,, also sold the Aug 12 1/2s against VRTL today (CCs)------ Kinda hoping it goes too since it was bought lower,,, trying to stay nimble and not get greedy,,,
