ISOMAN...REGARDING MM SHORT SALES AND GTC ORDERS...

As far as I know these two things have absolutely no relation. MM's are essentially just exempt from short sale rules. Thus, it is unnecessary for them to borrow shares (as far as I know).

While I never take home any large short or long positions, I know that I NEVER have to ask to borrow larger stocks to short. Thus, smaller stock (i.e. BB's) would not be affected by calling in certificates or attempting to tie up stock held in street name via a limit order.

Aside from all that I am simply tired of the conspiracy theorists who only want to believe that their stocks go down only because MM's short them. There are even those that go further and claim mass collusion and that the MM's actually caused the decline in March-April. If any of you reading this thread believe this to be true please feel free to comment and explain why. I have never 'bashed' anyone for stating their opinions when they are based on fact. As I stated in my original post my biggest motivation for posting here was to help people gain a better understading of how the markets REALLY work (not delusional conspiracies fabricated by people who need a scapegoat).

Thanks for the post ISO.

All the best,

-- Gene
