Of course I understand that. I think up until this point they have been amazingly accurate in hitting those sub targets. Considering how long ago those targets were created, they have done what I thought might be impossible when I first bought the stock.

My point was that they will most certainly hit the long range goals on time but might miss the short range goal for this year. This is the nature of the beast. Technology is not adopted in nice neat even packages. It tends to be adopted in waves and spurts.

It is important that they don't solve a temporary problem with a permanent "solution" that degrades the real thing they have going for them, which is an always on, fast, reliable, broadband connection. Do you think Fedex could own the overnight market the way they do if in the early part of their rollout they said to themselves, "Absolutely, positively, almost all packages will get there overnight."

Ask me sometime for some funny stories about how AOL rolled out their DSL service (hint: it was self-install).
