MM'S AND CHARTS...

I do not know if specialists can use charts or not, although I would fathom a guess that they ARE allowed to use any charting/analysis software they want. I will ask my friend who is a specialist and try to find out in the next few weeks.

MM's for NASDAQ can (legally) and do use charting and stock analysis packages to help with their trading decisions. I personally use 1-minute intraday charts for stocks I trade and keep an eye on the bollinger bands within that chart. I also like to look at long-term japanese candlestick charts sometimes refer to Elliot Wave patterns (for predictability of movement).

However, the biggest tool I would recommend ANY trader to master is reading the ticker. Price action tells the WHOLE story at that moment in time and will be your best source once you integrate it into your trading.

All the best,
