Ashton Technology Announces Addition of 50
New Stocks to eVWAP Trading System

Business Wire - July 26, 2000 09:19

Jump to first matched term

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2000--The Ashton
Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTN) announced today it will add 50
additional stock symbols for trading on its eVWAP(TM) trading system, effective
Monday, August 7th. This will increase eVWAP eligibility to 100 issues.

As a facility of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the eVWAP intelligent matching
system allows pre-opening order matching for large-sized equity orders at a
standardized volume weighted average price, with absolute end-to-end electronic
anonymity, including "straight-through" clearing and settlement. Following the
morning order entry session, executions occur and are reported to participants at
9:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST), with the final eVWAP price calculated
and assigned to the trade at 4:20 p.m. EST each trading day.

Ashton CEO Fredric W. Rittereiser said, "The addition of these 50 stocks will
accommodate broader use of the system and allow for volume growth and
liquidity as we integrate larger participants."

The following 100 issues will be eligible for trading on August 7th, with new
issues bulleted.
