Perhaps it is heavily day-traded and panic and greed rule that stock like any large-cap.

The thinner the float is the more likely you will get those kind of 'hairy' swings, even in cheaply priced stocks such as the one you spoke of.

If the float is not thin I really don't have any other ideas as to why the price action does what it does.
