I think that the NOK bad news can really help QCOM in the near and long term. To roll out 3G and/or look at other possible growth area are really only ways for them to sustain growth in the future. I believe that sooner or later they have to strike a deal with QCOM. I added QCOM this morning because: 1) I believe that we are in an uptrend (even if Nasdaq is in downtrend), and we have formed a classic reverse H&G pattern in the chart; 2) Too much positive out of the spin off; 3)When weak earnings results could not push the issue lower, what can? All the bad news are priced in and I love the facts that analysts lower their number while maintaining their rating. This gives QCOM room to provide upside surprise next year, if not next Q. The number for next Q has come down to 25 cents from 32. Bullish; 4) We filled the gap at 63 5/8 this morning on very low volume, then followed by a sharp reversal upside. We are seeing higher low to say the least, and I am confident that we will see mid to high 70s in August. That's why I took full advantage of the early weakness and bought shares, sold Aug. 65 puts, and bought Aug. 70 calls at 2 1/2. This is a steal.

This is the first time that I am very confident about QCOM's price movement in a long time after i sold off my shares back in Jan.

good luck to all QCOM longs,
larry!

CA,

My view on QCOM's negotiating strategy with NOK:

You put the Hot poker in
You pull the Hot poker out,
You put the Hot poker in and
you Grrrrrrrrrrrrrind it all about,
You do the Nokey Pokey and you turn yourself around
That's what it is all about!
