Scumbria, it did go down to 70 1/16. I don't have Level II
quotes but RT Level 1 quote showed 250 bids once it got that low. Of course the bids could be for 10 shares while the handful of asks can be for thousands but it definitely seemed to bounce at 70. I picked up 10 at 71 3/16. I would have liked more but can't afford more without going over my new self imposed margin limitation.

RE: I don't usually make short term predictions, but I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I think AMD hit bottom at $71.

I don't usually post (not enough time!), but boy do I hope you’re correct! I have been scanning the boards looking for some reason for this sell off and can't find any good one. The motherboard situation seems to be of some concern but I just checked with three of my distributors and they all have FIC AZ11 and MSI K7T motherboards in stock.

As for the OEM situation, an AMD tech told me back in May that he didn’t think OEMs would be shipping Duron systems until August. So I think they are on schedule as they see it.

Comment: Maybe you should leave "sticking the neck out" to others :)! Last $69(3.5 million shs)and not showing much pent up demand!!! At least until 1:30 to 2:00 later today when one hopes to see a significant reversal.

Scumbria:

That was it...the bottom at $68-1/2, just a minute ago...Here we go...Onward and upward once again!!! A close today around $74 won't surprise me!

Scumbria:

Like I was saying...Leave it to others...$68 on 5.5 million shares...Those selling below $70 will regret it real soon...before the day is out, I'd say!!!

I don't usually make short term predictions, but I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I think AMD hit bottom at $71.

You should have stuck with your usual mode. AMD saw 68 and closed at 70. Will the blood bath continue tomorrow ?
