I'm pretty heavily exposed to semiconductors, and have wondered myself about the possibility that some analysts might have a hidden agenda. Listening to the LSI conference call, several of the analysts seemed openly hostile to what they were being told.

But that's JMHO.

Actually, today's "slaughter" is confined to the NASDAQ. The NYSE (70% of U.S. market value) is up .4%. Both the NASDAQ and NYSE are trading on quite high volume.

This is rather curious -- suggests perhaps that some big movers are rotating money out of the NASDAQ and pushing it into the NYSE? Someone thinks the old companies are again going to batter the new for a while?
