Yes. I understand this too, as I have talked to the DirecTV folks a few times over the past few months. I understand that if I choose to hook up several TVs, it will require a "separate install" for each TV notwithstanding whether I purchase more than one receiver for each TV so that each TV can view a different channel signal simultaneously.

Nevertheless, are you suggesting that if I choose to watch live TV via DBS while recording a different channel signal onto my Replay, I'm going to require a separate (second) receiver to do this? If not, then what are you suggesting as the set up in order to watch live TV and record another channel at the same location?

Ali:

I spoke to the Replay folks this PM. Your comments are correct. As I see it, the only way I can have the same set up as I do now is to purchase a second receiver just to run a second line directly into my TV so I can watch live TV while record another channel. Not an attractive alternative.

Now, all I have to do is wait for an overbuilder before I get a near perfect digital quality picture, because I don't think I'm gonna get it from my MSO, at least not for awhile.
