Tejek: You asked, "Why would a dual processor core lead to an accelerated time frame?"

You've misunderstood.. re-read his quote:

"I find it interesting that Drew states Sledgehammer will be CMP capable, What I have read previously indicates that the initial Sledgehammer will have a single processor core. Drew's statement in this article seems to indicate that
Sledgehammer will be dual processor core from the start.
If true, this alone would constitute an acceleration of
the Sledgehammer timetable."

A dual processor core isnt leading to an accelerated time frame.. rather.. what Dale is getting at here is that he has read prior to this that Sledgehammer would have a single processor core, and Drew's statement seems to indicate Sledge would have a dual processor core.. this, if true seems to be an acceleration of Sledgehammer by AMD.

Hope that clarifies things. (Now.. whether you or anyone else agrees with that statement is another matter entirely)
