Ron, As always I respect your opinion however when 2 companies are considering a merger they don't look at a chart to see if they should wait to join forces. Please explain to me of your concerns about the "And given that GNET was seeing major call option action over the past weeks, INSP's weakness is now calling into question whether they will see any profitability from taking on those calls"....What do you mean about "taking on those calls"??????????????

Ron...you said...

<<This brings up an issue as to whether this was the proper time to announce this acquisition. It would have been nice if INSP had waited until they had broken through the $60-65/share resistance level.>>

On a technical basis who could argue with that...but realistically, the deal was done...announce it and start the education process going...

Now, the many analysts that either ignored GNET or couldn't tell them apart from the other 2 or 3 Go.com "names" will get educated...

From what I am hearing is that all the wireless initiatives Infospace started announcing last fall will kick in big in revenues starting this fall...and BOOM... what do you know...GNET's Broadband initiatives announced well over one year ago will explode in unison with INSP's wireless...Not to mention Games.com in September...

Both companies are independently VERY well positioned in the Wireless & Broadband Worlds...now a marriage...

As an aside...I think there must be something going on internationally to really add to the overall distribution of this combined entities assets...

Based on the run up as well as the call option volume, it would appear that the news had alredy leaked. The timing may not have been by choice.

IF MSFT were looking at this combination I wouldn't expect a buyout, rather a very large equity stake and alliance similar to the T deal. Same thing with AOL. However, YHOO, DIS, and even T, could do outright buyouts. I like the thinking of the GNET and Vulcan crew...coagulate and merge the best technology and brains at reasonable levels now and yield MUCH higher potential gains and profits down the road!

I fully expect to see us move SUBSTANTIALLY up from here before any further deals are announced! I actually like the timing of this deal...if we had gone further up in INSP we would have had further to fall! This way INSP secures a floor and can move confidently from here!
