MessagePilot(TM), which was completed under a co-developed agreement between GTMI and Data Exchange, was successfully demonstrated live between the GTMI headquarters in Newport Beach, California and the Data Exchange lab in Richardson, Texas. Following the successful testing, hardware was ordered to commence the build- out of the North American MessagePilot(TM) Network. GTMI President, Jonathon Bentley-Stevens said, "The system is truly amazing. During the test, I received numerous e-mails at my MessagePilot(TM) account from a variety of e-mail services including Yahoo!, MSN, and CompuServe/AOL. One of the e-mails contained a keyword that I had chosen which would act as a filter and immediately notify my cell phone. When the system received that e-mail, MessagePilot(TM) applied my keyword filter and immediately rang my cell phone. Upon answering, I was greeted by a high quality human-like voice telling me that I had received an e-mail, who it was from, as well as the subject, date and time of the e-mail. MessagePilot(TM) then proceeded to read me the full text of the message. It was brilliant." As indicated, the tests were performed on a variety of e-mail platforms including Yahoo!, MSN, and CompuServe/AOL. Various types of messages were sent including e-mail and voicemail and the tests demonstrated the speed and reliability of the system. The initial version of MessagePilot(TM) will support all the basic unified messaging capabilities. This includes receiving e-mail, voicemail, and faxes, advanced message filtering, notification to cell phones, pagers, fax machines, converting text to speech, etc. Chief Technical Officer of Data Exchange Michael Heffner said, "The system we are launching will lead to a wide variety of additional value added IP services. MessagePilot(TM) was built to capitalize on the network convergence of wireless, wireline, and IP-based communications. It delivers not only unified messaging but also a platform for developing and deploying a wide array of enhanced IP services, most of which will be Web-enabled". He continued, "We extended the development time of MessagePilot(TM) to ensure we were well ahead of the competition. Competitors using mostly commercial off the shelf products can get to market quickly but will lack in flexibility and expandability of their product portfolio. To that end, Data Exchange has invested a significant amount of time and effort in developing many of the building blocks of MessagePilot(TM) from scratch. These include things like our extremely fast and scaleable in memory database, a highly flexible internal messaging protocol, encryption, etc." GTMI president Jonathon Bentley-Stevens, said, "With the VoIP National Network in its final stages of deployment in Australia we decided to focus the release of MessagePilot(TM) in North America. The system is getting a lot of attention in the industry, we are currently negotiating contracts with some established North American prospective partners and customers. Additionally we are pleased to invite several of our shareholders with modest software engineering skills to take part in the final testing prior to public beta test of MessagePilot(TM). Participants are invited to e-mail the company on GTMImail@cs.com and register interest. Only a few shareholders will be interviewed and selected for the trials. Tests will be conducted under confidentiality agreements, however, their comments will be noted and included in future press releases.
