Rendering is one area I expect something like itanium will be able to do well at vs. traditional x87 (simply due to the fact it has a real register file).

At 1/3 the clock speed?????

Success of Itanium is certainly dependent upon getting some good applications support. If you are knowlegeable of graphics applications then can you comment on the companies listed in that press release. Does it include all the big names, or are there some significant companies missing from the list?
