How do you think the auto companies will react to this technology application?

qualcomm.com

OmniExpress is huge for automobile companies. Real time navigational systems will likely be mandated by congress in the near future just as E 911 is mandated for cell phone users.

That is going to be one interesting launch. The w-CDMA proponents have pushed this sooo hard to their governments and standards committees that all hell is going to break loose if it performs as a "patched up" standard. I'm not sure that the Euro's would stand behind their beloved if it fails to deliver as promised. Grab the popcorn, should prove to be very interesting.

Ramsey

Why would Q be spending money developing a WCDMA chip if it's vaporware. Why would Q go to the trouble of creating Spinco to obtain GSM cross licenses if WCDMA were vaporware.
Why would Q announce a release date on a vaporware chip.
I have not heard Dr J state that WCDMA is vaporware, in fact the only negative comment I heard is that other people's version of WCDMA may not work as well as they try to skirt around Q's patents, which in fact implies that WCDMA is in fact a real product and Q's version will be superior.
Would love to believe WCDMA is vaporware but give me logical reasons to why Q is persuing this market if it's vaporware.
