Scumbria, I never said Merced would have an easy ride, but there are some things it will do well at. Especially if they can bring the damned thing to market. Right now it's looking to have a 6-12 month lead over sledgehammer. So if I want fast rendering I buy a merced for 6 months. No big deal for my these days. I just want speed. Right now I get my performance from Athlons (they are just floating point monsters). If Merced can out run Athlon in FPU I'll switch to Merced, then when sledge is out I'll use that. Steve
