Why doesn't Wal-Mart have this problem?
Sure the 4th qtr is strong for Wal-Mart, but so is the other 3 Qtrs
Btw
I won't say it!

The discrepency is is that you're looking at one quarter. Every statement I have read or heard
from them is "for the year". They have been very careful in this regard because business is
seasonal. If you look the statements over you will see it.

William,

I was comparing from Q1 2000 not Q4 99. Not too much seasonality between those two quarters. I can't say I have studied these numbers thouroughly as of yet. I will and post my thoughts.

I will reinterate theat Amazon is doing exactly as I thought it would do from what I could see a few years ago. I see very little chance for improvement and I also see a need more for cash about this time next year. Amazon has always been able to raise money in far excess amounts that I ever believed possible. Maybe that will occur in a year. I would like to say the "fact" remains the business model does not work. It is not a fact yet. I will say I still believe the business model will fail.

Glenn

William,

You are correct that management has been making statements referencing for the year. It appears management assumes Q4 will be cash flow positive in the amount of atleast $225 million. I believe that is a reasonable number. I really doubt that will/can happen.
