Hey- I've been there too (the Mojave). I've also seen wild dogs out there- well only once. They were scary.

There is no case on record of a coyote breeding into anything that is in the least like a Russian thistle.

"A bigger problem is the coyote-dog hybrids. There are no fertility barriers here and
coyotes won't "mutate" but will breed into something unnatural and out of place (like
Russian Thistle)."
