Rambus, Oki Electric sign patent license agreement

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 28 (Reuters) - Rambus Inc. , a developer of technology to speed the performance of memory chips, said Friday it
signed a patent license agreement with Japan's Oki Electric Industry Co.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

The agreement covers patents for aspects of high-speed memory implemented in synchronous dynamic random-access memory chips, or
SDRAMs, and Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM memory and controllers, Rambus said.

The royalty rates for DDR SDRAM and the DDR controllers are greater than the compatible rates for RDRAM, or Rambus Dynamic Random
Access Memory, Rambus said. The agreement also includes royalties for SDRAM and logic that controls SDRAM, as well as a license fee for
the entire agreement.

Carl-- What do you mean by your references to "mom and pop" in regards to RAMBUS? I agree with you that most of the longs posting on this thread have limited to nil technical background and seem to be pretty limited in other analytical functions (the jim and dick tag team tonight has been particularly entertaining); however, looking at the institutional ownership figures, RMBS has 56% of its float owned by institutions, which is essentially identical to Intel's 57% and Microsoft's 58%. When Mark Edelstone excretes his $200 price target, I don't think it's directed towards "mom and pop."

You do seem to have a soft spot for story stocks though-- I read some of your J. Bozos loving on Ask M.B. Anyway, I don't think small retail investors or large institutional ones have a monopoly on delusional reasoning and false premises.
