DJ Corvis 31.6M Shrs -2: Offering Increased From 27.5M Shrs

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--An initial offering of 31.6 million common shares of
Corvis Corp. (CORV) was priced at $36 each through underwriters led by Credit
Suisse First Boston.
The company had expected the shares to be offered at $28 to $30 each.
The size of the offering was increased from the originally planned 27.5
million shares, which were expected to be offered at $13 to $15 each.
Gross spread is $2.52, selling concession is $1.52 and reallowance is 10
cents. Delivery is scheduled for Aug. 2.
The company plans to use the proceeds for working capital and general
corporate purposes.
Corvis, Columbia, Md., designs, manufactures and markets products that enable
a shift in the design of backbone networks by allowing for the transmission,
switching and management of communications traffic entirely in the optical
domain.
