albert:

1.Most of flash is "locked in" for Y2000 and GM's therefore stable.

2. K6's replaced by Athys results in higher ASP's and and higher margins on average...$0.10 pre-tax per 100,000 incremental Athy as a benchmark to date is a reasonably sound indicator.

3. K7 average prices may decline (but I'm not convinced), but even so margins may increase with improved productivity (binsplits, etc) as Dresden works out the kinks.

I agree $5.00 = $250 at Intel, so $9.00 for AMD should result in minimum $200 by yearend and possibly much higher by then!!!
