VENK: There are so many ... ... (too many, seems to me -- makes it very difficult to figure out what is best for ME to do -- we're all different; different income needs, goals, etc) ways to look at things ... I certainly see your point ... it's called "capital preservation," isn't it? And another factor: what we have witnessed happen this Spring and Summer with some of these stocks has been HARROWING! QCOM, i.e. Taking profits when you got 'em on these high-flyers certainly seems to be the pragmatic thing to do. Also sounds like you have no intention of PERMANENTLY leaving the market, right?
