Leo, I can't say I agree with you that these massive short positions the commercials are building up are " mostly hedging against their long accounts". This is more than merely taking out an insurance policy against financial calamity. This is their largest short position on record as far as I know. And they continue to build up these levels over time not a one or two week aberration Maybe the commercials know "something else" is out there but they can't put a finger on it.
