Lizzie, you seem to be forgetting the NRA membership has surged in recent years. And pro gun people are far more likely to vote.

The only thing they need to overcome is the amazing bias in the mainstream press toward getting rid of guns. Passing a few more laws isn't going to protect anyone unless we arrest illegal gun users. And the Clinton/Gore record on arrests is pathetic. Moses has an open field on that part of the equation. No doubt the NRA has some commercials standing by..

I am looking forward to a reprise of the fraudulent misrepresentations that led us to first abandon Kuwait and give a green light to Saddam and then to hoodwink the Saudis with forged pictures of tanks inside Saudi Arabia. If Cheney will answer the charges as to why our troops were sent into Iraq with no protection against biological weapons, and then why we backed down at the end (was it biological blackmail?).
It was a serious tactical error for the Republicans to reopen the Gulf War Debate. Cheney can't refuse to answer the charges that have been brought. Dubya could say "huh? but Cheney has to tell the truth.
