reforget the tax thing.
OOPS. You are right: And JDSU could easily slip to the 70-80 range. We'll see what Monday brings.

Long term tax worse. Forgot alternative minimum tax 26-28%.

So long term is Ca 9.2% + Fed 28% = 37.2%

You take all the risk and the govts take a large cut of your success.

Almost got some at 60 today. Maybe tomorrow. Glad I lightened up at 68 3/4. I took a loss (bought at 70, and it's a wash sale), but now I have money (actually, margin ability) to buy back at 60 and 55.

Worst-case scenario (everything possible goes wrong, and gets the worst possible spin), QCOM hits 40 this year. I can handle that. Nothing has happened to make me change my 150 price target for 2003.

I do all my buying on days like today, when the fear/uncertainty overwhelms Mr. Market. He's a manic-depressive with no long-term memory.
