NT and Alteon-- Of course, you realize that NT had no choice if the direction of NT was to proceed into the data communications market (in contrast to the optical infrastructure and SONET transport markets). The acquisition of Bay has not helped them; the entree with the Versalar 25000 has failed and I think the project got dumped; Shasta has failed them and the principals have left NT; they have to sell the Juniper "M-s"; Avici has now rocketed into IPO land; Lots of competition in the Alteon space, CSCO not-withstanding at 30-35% total share--we have Foundry and F5 and a host of start-ups. What do you think ??
