NORWOOD, Mass., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Analog Devices, Inc. The report, titled ``1999 Consumer Electronics Semiconductor Market Share,'' is Dataquest's fifth annual comprehensive study of companies supplying ICs for consumer electronics products. According to the report, Analog Devices ranked #10 in 1999, up from #22 in 1998, for standard analog ICs used in consumer electronics, based on worldwide revenue. In addition, Analog Devices was ranked among the top 20 suppliers of ICs for next-generation products, representing the greatest growth opportunity for IC suppliers in the consumer electronics industry today. Next-generation products include: set-top boxes, video game controllers, VCD players, digital still cameras, DVD players, digital TVs, and Internet audio players. Analog Devices jumped to the #4 position in 1999 for suppliers of ICs to digital cable set-top box manufacturers.

``As the industry continues to rebound from its slump in 1998, companies providing solutions to the worldwide market for consumer electronic ICs will benefit from the growth,'' said Jay Srivatsa, senior industry analyst, Dataquest.

``With our leadership in high-performance analog and DSP technologies, and our unique ability to integrate these technologies into mixed-signal designs, we believe we are extremely well positioned to continue to capitalize on growth in high-performance consumer electronics products, but also in communications, PC and industrial applications,'' said Jerald G. Fishman president and CEO, Analog Devices. ``We are truly excited about our prospects for continued growth as high-performance signal processing displaces data processing as the semiconductor industry's primary growth driver for the new decade.''
