I'd agree with that definition, except each of has their own standard of "reasonable". I am a short termer, since I just bought qcom in April '99. I am not dismayed by today's price of 62 7/16 since it represents a 255% return in 16 months. But my idea of a reasonable price for qcom + spinco is >150 in the next 6 months.

Does that make me a weak hand? Do you get to make that call?

long since Feb. 1995. Guess I am strong hands. The problem with your EPS scenario is that it is too static and doesn't take into account a lot of new devices that will be coming online. Plus, the spinoff will cause an increase in PE, at least for Qualcomm. Unlike you, I don't trade to save a few bucks. Since I have a very long term view, five bucks or so doesn't mean a hill of beans in the long run. Plus, I admit I am a terrible market timer.
