2MAR$, re: QCOM

I think this is key (my bold)...

WHAT: QUALCOMM to host news conference to unveil new joint venture

WHEN: Monday, July 31, 2000, 11:15 a.m. (EDT)

WHO: Dr. Irwin Mark Jacobs, chairman and CEO, QUALCOMM
Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, executive vice president and next president of QUALCOMM Strategic partners

I noted that QCOM refused to bid on 3G in Korea... perhaps a strategic shift against the Asian Ostriches that have been thumbing their noses at QCOM.

Perhaps QCOM is going to aggressively pursue other markets, like Europe... if so, here's one place I'd watch for action Monday: AIRN

Of course, the wireless sector is so beaten down that guessing partners from the likes of MOT, ERICY, NOK, IDCC, GWRX, etc etc, could go on forever. But never count QCOM's Jacobs boys out....
