About 6 months or so ago, I started posting on this thread. Before that, I posted a lot of Due Diligence and had a certain measure of success on the WR Thread. In that time I have gotten to know a number of the people who post regularly here. Most of them, I have a great deal of respect for. Especially those who post their opinions on stocks after doing a great deal of due diligence on the company. I have learned that it takes a special type of person to call the company and talk to more than one person there, go through SEC filings, check the news releases, check the message boards. It takes work to identify real opportunities in the foggy underworld that is the OTCBB. I have missed a lot of trading opportunities because I am on the phone getting information, or digging through SEC filings to get info on a company I am posting on or have posted on. There are leaders and there are followers. Both are equally valuable. There is no leader without followers and vice-versa. But.... The leader bears a burden that the follower does not. That burden is the responsibility to have all their facts and information straight. Those of us who do all this Due Diligence will occasionally miss a detail, or get surprised by a company development that was unforseen. Those of us who post a stock for the first time or put up new information on a company "reap the rewards" and suffer the consequences depending on how the stock performs. The poster is only as good as their last stock. Its like being a weatherman.... no feedback until you are wrong. When you are wrong, you get trashed in the chat rooms and on the message boards... It goes with the territory. I have been wrong many times... But I have been right about stocks most of the time. The same case can be made for several of the posters on this thread that have the stones to post information on why they are buying a particular stock. If we actually do run PUMP and DUMPS our reputation and credibility are destroyed. Believe me... If I post on a stock, I am expecting that others will buy and I have a responsibility to make sure I am putting out good info. Especially given the fact that many of my/our followers have day jobs and can't trade or trade very little during the time the market is open. AND you can also bet that I am taking a significant position in the stock myself. A number of the posters here who do this due diligence and are the perceived "leaders" talk to one another on the ICQ, email and the phone. We work together to check each others work and to trade opinions. For most of the people on this thread it is our sincere desire that everyone make money on our "picks"... Again, if we were running P & Ds we would be ruined. I personally, spend about $2000 a month on stock services, phone calls etc to have the best information available for any stock I am working on that I will ultimately post on (if it is worthwhile). One of the people I have used as a "sanity check" for my work is RG... I have nothing more than the greatest respect for RG. When I am looking at a company and think there is really something there, I will frequently run it by RG... he will have a look and on more than one occasion, he has found "a snake in the woodpile" and I decided not to post on or buy the stock. RG does NOT run Pump and Dumps. He is a hard worker and has brought many stocks to this thread that have ultimately seen huge gains. Those who bought in a timely fashion made money. There is a such thing as joining the party too late. I beleive on several occasions over the last few months here, the rules of OTCBB trading have been published in one way, shape or fashion. Finally, over the last 4 months or so, the market has been very tough on the OTCBB... stocks that would normally see 400% gains only move 100% or maybe even less... many have moved lower. This market is tough. It is easy for a "follower" to bash a leader... a leader who is willing to stick his/her neck out and post information about a company's stock and keep updating investors/traders. The "follower" has no responsibility and by looking at many of the posts on the RB threads and some of the SI threads, some "followers" don't even take responsibility for their own trades. It is easy to bash when one is making no decisions except to buy or sell. Even then, it is easy to blame a bad trade on someone else. I urge everyone to stop, think and put things in perspective... Do not be drawn into a game of blame. Take responsibility for your own actions. Make your own trades... make your own decisions. Do not believe everything you read here or anywhere else. Just because something is published in a paper, newsletter or on a web site does not make it so... Regards and have a good weekend all, Tom
